I have '91 Ford Explorer, can it comfortably tow a two horse bummer pull trailer?
Will it make a difference since it is 17 years old? Still runs pretty good.

There shouldn't be a problem if the vehicle has been service regularly.

I need a safe vehicle to tow a 2 horse trailer and I need it on a cheap budget. Any good advice out there????????

half ton truck will work but if you can afford it a 3/4 ton would be better it dosent matter about the brand.just make sure the engine is big enough to pull it check with manufacturers specs for towing capiclty keep in mind the terrain you will be pulling in if you are pulling in the mts you will need more power than the plains mkae sure that you also have a rating on the hitc capable of the weight of trailer and horses combined

I need a relativley small horse trailer that'll hold 1 horse. I have no idea the prices of that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

A used trailer can be as low as 1000 (one thousand) dollars. A new one can be as much as 10,000 (ten thousand) dollars. Have fun "horsing" around!

I am going from Pochahontos county to huntington wv and i need a horse trailer.

I've got a four horse for sale in Missouri. Only $3500. The paint is faded from the sun, but it's in great condition. Wood floors, full length mats for hoof support and non-slipping. Area for storage. Removable cross gate. Escape door on the side.

I want a 4 horse with LARGE LQ....What are certain things that all of you guys like in yours horse trailers and what brands do you all like?

sundowner by far makes the BEST LQ trailers, but exiss and featherlite are not bad either. there are a lot of companies out there now that turn non-LQ trailers into LQ trailers with aftermarket parts and things that customize your trailer to your needs. gold coach conversions is one company that does a good job

I have a 2005 Buick Century. Can it handle pulling a 1 or a 2 horse, horse trailer safely? If not, what car does have this capability? I don't want a truck or an SUV.

In Europe they pull horse trailers with cars all the time. BUT there is a catch (Actually two).

First and foremost: The trailer MUST have a brake axle and the the car must be wired for it so that the brake axle on the trailer is stopping the trailer NOT the brakes of the car.

Second: The car really needs to be a manual. Most cars have automatic transmissions that are not designed to pull with. Using such an automatic to pull a horse trailer with will burn it out.

Options: A good sized car with a manual transimission. A small truck again I still advise a manual transmission and the brake axle. I also suggest a 4 wheel drive as it can be hard to get them started if you stop facing uphill. A full sized truck but some of them are too light in the automatic transmission department as well, it just depends on what truck.

If you want to save gas and have a LOT of money to spend the newer dodge trucks with the Cummins Diesel get up to 30 miles per gallon even in the 4 wheel drive version. The older ones (late 80's early 90's get 18 to 20). Mine gets 20 miles to the gallon it is a 92 Dodge 1 ton. But I pull a very heavy trailer with up to 4 horses at a time in it. Even then I get 14 mpg while pulling (maybe a little better). I will be switching to used vegetable oil when I get it back. It was supposed to be done two days ago but they had to wait on a part he just got ysterday. So I am hoping I will have it by noon. (2 hours from now)

Each vehicle type has pros and cons. What you need will depend on many things. Keep in mind that many full sized trucks are now getting in excess of 20 miles per gallon if it is the gas you are worried about.

Keep in mind that while towing a small engine often gets less gas mileage than a big one because it works harder.
